Oraefajokull

Öræfajökull is an ice coverd volcano and it´s the largest active colcano in the country. On its north western rim is Hvannadalshnjúkur, the highest peak in Iceland.

Geographically Öræfaj-ökull is considered a part of Vatnajökull glacier. The volcano has erupted twice in historical time.
