Glymur waterfall is the highest waterfall of Iceland, with a cascade of 198m.
Glymur is in the river Botnsa that runs out of Hvalavatn (Whale water), which is a lake formed by melted lava, some 160m deep. The second deepest lake in Iceland.
The name Glymur means “boom” or “rumble”, comes from the natural sound of water falling far down into a narrow chasm, creating excellent acoustics.
