The Grimsvotn volcanic eruption has ended!

The most powerful eruption of the Grimsvotn volcanic system ended on May 28 according to scientists. The Grimsvotn eruption is said to have been the most powerful in over 100 years and the ash coming out of the crater is many times more than from Eyjafjallajökull last year.
Through good fortune, the wind direction was not towards Europe, but more up North into the North Atlantic and the Arctic sea. In comparison to last year, there was little disturbance to flight traffic, mostly within Iceland.
