QI and Stephen Fry talk about Iceland

Iceland has been the main focus in a special Christmas issue of comedy show QI presented by British actor Steven Fry.
The guests, who included the actors Brian Blessed and Alan Davis and comedians Sean Lock and Ross Noble discussed and answered various questions about the country and its culture.
Ruv.is reports that, among the various test, the participants were asked to:
- Pronounce Eyjafjallajökull, the name of the infamous Volcano, whose eruption blocked the air traffic over Europe in spring 2010.
- Guess what a nábrók is, loosely translated “necropants”: an item on display at the Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft Museum in Holmavík (North West Iceland).
- Explain why the Icelandic phonebook is organized differently than the British.
The guests proved to be quite knowledgeable about Iceland but no one could pronounce Eyjafjallajökull.
QI has been shown on the BBC since 2003. Stephen Fry has been its presenter since the beginning and Alan Davies is the only permanent guest.
The show is produced and directed by John Lloyd; who has written for some of the BBC’s most popular comedy shows, including Spitting Image, Have I Got News For You, Blackadder and more.
