Ports in Iceland

Iceland is a part of the Mid Atlantic Ridge which is a huge undersea ridge built up over millions of years of volcanic activity. As a result, Iceland’s landmasses are very different in age and appearance. 12% of the country is made up of glaciers and volcanic activity is still very much part of the Icelandic daily life.

Iceland experiences a volcanic eruption on average every 5 years, hence the abundance of lava fields, hot springs and exotic landscapes that Iceland is so famous for.

It has also resulted in the country boasting a truly impressive coast line along with a wonderful selection of port calls to choose from. As such, one can safely assume that no two port calls in Iceland will be the same.
