Despite having only 4,000 residents Isafjordur is a dynamic town and the hub of the Westfjords. Featuring cultural events year-round, Isafjordur is a dynamic, bohemian community.
Its tidy town centre boasts a pleasant atmosphere and big-town ambiance, and is well suited for exploration on foot. Isafjordur is home to some of the oldest houses in Iceland, dating from the 1700s, a fascinating Maritime Museum and a good selection of café’s restaurants, and shops offering original gifts and souvenirs.
