DAY 2  Hveragerði - Hiking in Reykjadalur Valley
Geothermal Village - Greenhouses - Hot Springs with Bathing

On our way we encounter hot springs and see hot steam plumes rise from the ground. We can take a dip in the Reykjadalsa river where geothermally heated water meets fresh mountain streams, creating the perfect temperature for bathing in untouched nature. (Don’t forget your swimsuit!). After a relaxing break we hike back to Hveragerði.
Dinner and overnight in the Hveragerði area.

National Park with Geological Wonders (UNESCO) - Exploding Geysers - Massive Waterfall

Þingvellir National Park dramatically reveals the continental drift between the American and Eurasian tectonic plates. We depart for the Geysir Geothermal Area to see the great Geysir as well as Strokkur, a hot spring that explodes every few minutes.  Onwards to Gullfoss one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls.

We also venture out to the magnificent ocean cliffs, home to 10 million puffins. Today’s hike is to the top of Eldborg volcano, still warm from its latest eruption almost 40 years ago, followed by a walk through the town.
