Iceland is for the birds! With the largest puffin, razorbill, and skua colonies in the world it’s no wonder bird lovers flock to Iceland to view some of nature’s finest feathered friends.

There are several beautiful regions throughout Iceland which are ideal for bird watching. Many other bird species make their home in Iceland such as the Golden plover, Red-necked Phalarope, Great Northern Diver, Cormorant, Gannet, Barrow’s Goldeneye and Harlequin duck, the Whooper swan, Gyrfalcon, Merlin and the Ptarmigan – only to name a few !

Many of these species are found in overlapping territories in a high concentration, making Iceland an appealing venue for this rarefied activity.
