HOTEL BUDIR

Hotel Budir was originally founded in 1948 and has ever since been immensely popular with travelers in this part of Iceland, both foreign and domestic. Hotel Budir has enjoyed a special status as a provincial hotel, originally because of the majestic surroundings and the relative remoteness, but the hotel soon gained a reputation for its superb cuisine and unique atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the old Hotel Budir burned down in 2001.  Luckily, it was during off-season and no one was hurt.  It was rebuilt immediately and re-opened the restauarant in 2002, follwed by the re-opening for accommodations in 2003.  The new hotel was designed with a careful eye on the history on Hotel Budir, but living up to the expectations of our discerning  cosmopolitan clientele. We may be located at the end of the habitable world, but that is all the more reason to offer world class lodging and service.

We would also like to draw your attention to the new conference facilities of the hotel as well as our ideas on the rebuilding of Budir village. There are 28 rooms at the hotel.
