Sigurjón Ólafsson was born in 1908, studied and worked in Denmark 1928-45. After he returned to Iceland he lived and worked in Laugarnes, where the museum is located today.
The Museum of Sigurjón Ólafsson exhibits work by the sculptor Sigurjón. The museum is a private foundation, founded by Birgitta the artists widow.
Birgitta converted the artist’s studio at Laugarnes into a museum, collection of his work. There you can find sculptures, sketches and drawings, as well as biographical material.
