Reykjaböð Hot Springs with Transfer from Reykjavík

Explore Iceland&#8217;s Eastfjords aboard a fast, stable RIB boat. Cruising through beautiful fjords to visit the vivid cliffs of Rauðubjörg, the towering face of Nípan, the sea cave of Páskahellir, and the serene Hellisfjörður. One of the most compelling ways to experience this remarkable coastline.
Setting off from the pier in Neskaupstaður, the local guide is on hand from the first moment, bringing the kind of insider knowledge that makes each stop feel like more than sightseeing. The boat heads first to Páskahellir, a sea cave carved by waves and time. If conditions allow, guests can step inside to observe the lava formations and ancient tree moulds, with legends woven into the rock that bring the geology quietly to life. From there, the tour continues past Nípan, Iceland&#8217;s tallest sea cliff, rising sheer from the ocean whilst puffins, auks and gulls fill the skies above, entirely unbothered by the audience below.
Next comes Rauðubjörg, where reddish rhyolite and elegantly curved basalt columns shimmer in the light like nature&#8217;s own cathedral. There&#8217;s time to pause offshore and soak it all in before the boat turns into the sheltered calm of Hellisfjörður, where silence does most of the talking and the remains of an old whaling station add a quiet layer of human history to a fjord that feels genuinely untouched.
On the return, the cliffs of Múli offer one last majestic display before arriving back at Beituskúrinn, where a drink is waiting to toast to the experience.

Neskaupstaður Nature Tour by RIB Boat

Just a short drive from Reykjavík, the Hengill area offers a rare chance to experience Iceland&#8217;s volcanic energy up close, and this 1-hour ATV tour makes the most of it. Starting at the base near Litla Kaffistofan, the group gears up, runs through a safety briefing and heads out across the Hellisheiði plateau into one of Iceland&#8217;s most active geothermal zones.
The route crosses lava fields formed by past eruptions, including the historic Svínahraun area, where the terrain tells the story of centuries of volcanic activity as vividly as any museum could. Moving deeper into the Hengill system, steam vents, mineral-rich ground and active boreholes make the heat beneath the surface impossible to ignore. Hengill Geothermal ATV Tour Near Reykjavik

Take a step off the beaten track and into Iceland&#8217;s Highlands, where this guided small-group tour brings together two of the country&#8217;s most spectacular waterfalls, Háifoss and Hjálparfoss, and a visit to the Commonwealth Farm, a reconstructed Viking settlement.
With comfortable transport and expert local guidance, it&#8217;s the ideal way to experience a quieter, more dramatic side of Iceland without missing the landmarks that make it unforgettable. Travelling away from the busiest routes, the day combines two of the country&#8217;s most impressive waterfalls with a fascinating window into Viking-age life, all set against landscapes shaped by fire, water and centuries of history.
The first stop is Hjálparfoss, a distinctive double waterfall where two rivers converge and cascade side by side into a shared pool, framed by dark lava formations and geometric basalt columns. An accessible walk leads to viewpoints around the falls, making it a serene and genuinely beautiful introduction to highland scenery and, as it happens, one of the most romantic spots in Iceland if the occasion calls for it.
From there, the tour continues to Háifoss, one of Iceland&#8217;s tallest waterfalls, plunging into a deep gorge carved by volcanic activity and glacial rivers over millennia. The surrounding landscape is vast and raw with steep cliffs, open plateaus, and sweeping views. In recent years its otherworldly atmosphere has drawn international attention, most notably as a filming location for the season finale of Stranger Things. There&#8217;s plenty of time here to walk, photograph and simply take in the scale of it all. Walking is easy to moderate.
The day wraps up at Þjóðveldisbærinn, the Commonwealth Farm in Þjórsársdalur, a carefully reconstructed Viking settlement based on 11th-century archaeological remains. The reconstructed turf houses and traditional buildings offer a genuine glimpse into the lives of Iceland&#8217;s earliest settlers, and with the stop falling around lunchtime, there&#8217;s plenty of time to explore without feeling hurried. Please note that lunch and entrance fees are not included.

Into the Upside Down: Háifoss & Þjórsárdalur Tour

The Snæfellsnes Peninsula is one of Iceland&#8217;s most iconic regions and this full-day tour covers the very best of it. It offers an extraordinary range of landscapes into a single day — lunar lava fields, dramatic coastline, ancient folklore and the brooding presence of Snæfellsjökull glacier. Because this tour runs year-round, it fits neatly into any Iceland itinerary.
The drive sets the tone immediately, with volcanic scenery building toward the glacier that Jules Verne immortalised in Journey to the Centre of the Earth. The first stop is Ytri-Tunga, where large seal colonies haul out on a beautiful black beach beside a working farm — one of those genuinely unscripted wildlife moments that Iceland does so well. From there, the group heads to a favourite local farm for a proper home-cooked meal.
Búðarkirkja comes next: the iconic black church of Búðir, standing alone within the ancient lava field of Búðahraun, its timber painted with pitch against Iceland&#8217;s fierce climate. The tour will continue along the coast to Arnarstapi where Atlantic swells have carved the cliffs into extraordinary formations, watched over by a statue of Bárður Snæfellsás, the peninsula&#8217;s mythological guardian. Then the black sand beach of Djúpalónssandur holds its own stories — shipwreck remains from 1948 and four ancient lifting stones once used to test the strength of fishermen and set their wages.
The day closes with Kirkjufell, Iceland&#8217;s most photographed mountain, framed by waterfalls and made famous as a Game of Thrones filming location, before a drive through the 4,000-year-old Berserkjahraun lava fields, rich with Viking-age legend.
Throughout, the group stays small giving the guide room to connect with everyone and the day the atmosphere it deserves.

Snæfellsnes Peninsula Minibus tour – Small Group – Meal included

Often called Iceland in miniature, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula offers an extraordinary range of landscapes into a single region &#8211; lava fields, mountains, a glacier, sea cliffs, lava caves, and black sand beaches.
The tour departs Reykjavík in the morning, heading northwest toward the peninsula. The first stop is Berserkjahraun, a vast moss-covered lava field tied to a fascinating Viking legend about two berserkers who carved Iceland’s very first road through this wild terrain. From there, visit Kirkjufell, one of Iceland’s most photographed mountains, rising 463 meters above the surrounding landscape and complemented by nearby waterfalls.
The journey continues to Djúpalónssandur, a dramatic black pebble beach featuring remnants of old shipwrecks and the historic lifting stones once used by fishermen to test their strength. A short drive leads to Ingjaldshólskirkja, Iceland’s oldest concrete church built in 1903, offering a peaceful setting with stunning coastal views.
Next is Arnarstapi, a charming fishing village where a scenic coastal walk reveals Miðgjá, a natural rock arch off the coast. The tour will continue to Búðakirkja, a striking 19th-century black wooden church that has become an iconic symbol of the peninsula. The final highlight is Ytri-Tunga, a rare golden sand beach and home to a resident seal colony often spotted on the rocks or in the waves.
Return to Reykjavík is expected by the evening, with a brief stop in Borgarnes along the way.

Snæfellsnes & Kirkjufell Small Group Tour

This two-hour tour by ATV shows you all the surroundings of Ísafjörður in a fun way. The bikes are automatic and easy to drive – all you need is a driver’s license.
This tour starts downtown Isafjörður. Your guide will make sure sure you know the bike before you take off. Drive through the town up towards the mountain, where you take the gravel road into the fjord. Drive on old gravel roads up to the top of  Þverfjall mountain on Breiðadalsheiði heath.
Here, you’ll have an amazing panoramic view over Skútulsfjörður and adjacent fjords. On the way back, your group heads through Tungudalur valley.
If you are looking for a short tour with a great overview of the area, this is a perfect option!

Panorama View ATV Tour from Ísafjörður

This tour is a wonderful experience for beginners and groups. It is a perfect half-day activity available from Ísafjörður all year round depending on weather. You will experience the majesty of the fjord from a unique angle as this tour takes you paddling just beneath the magnificent mountains that tower over Ísafjörður town. Your guides will take good care of you and give clear instructions to keep you safe while telling stories of folklore and life in this small town. You can expect to see many sea birds and, of course, the curious colony of seals who call the town Ísafjörður their home.
The journey begins at the harbour, where you meet your guide and gear up. You then walk down to the shore behind the old houses in Neðstikaupstaður, where you&#8217;ll have a short safety briefing and paddling lesson.
And then you’re off! Explore the fjord keeping a good lookout for various bird species and seals. No kayaking experience is necessary. Participants paddle for 2 hours at a slow pace, with many breaks. The sea condition is mostly calm with no waves and almost no wind.

Explore the magnificent lava tunnel Raufarhólshellir, including a comfortable bus transfer from Reykjavík.
A journey into Raufarhólshellir is a unique experience and a great opportunity to witness the inner workings of a volcanic eruption as you walk in the path of lava that flowed during the Leitahraun eruption, which occurred east of the Bláfjöll mountains about 5200 years ago. Every winter spectacular ice sculptures form inside the entrance of the cave, making the experience of visiting the lava tunnel even more breathtaking.
The total length of the tunnel is an impressive 1360 m (4500 ft), the main tunnel being 900 m (3000 ft) long. The tunnel is up to 30 m (98 ft) wide with headroom up to 10 m (32 ft) high, making it one of the most expansive lava tunnels in Iceland.
Our standard tour allows you to explore the tunnel in an easy and enjoyable manner. A footbridge has been built, and impressive lighting in this part of the tunnel highlights the changing colours and clearly shows the powerful volcanic activity that formed the tunnel.
Helmets and lights are provided. Warm clothes and sturdy shoes are recommended. There is usually some water dripping from the ceiling, so wearing a water resistant or waterproof jacket/clothes is recommended.

Icelanders drive around Iceland in winter, and your clients can, too! But your clients should be aware of the road conditions and unpredictable weather during Iceland’s winter wonderland season. They should be comfortable with driving in snowy, windy, and icy conditions. Iceland Travel has implemented steps to ensure the safety of your client, and we will keep them updated on any weather changes that might affect their itinerary along their route. We will cover any cost for hotels that need to be changed or cancelled if roads must close due to bad weather. We’ll watch over your clients, and they can always reach us via our 24/7 Customer Care service.

West Coast Wonders & Southern Classics

The Puffin Express by RIB Speedboat is the perfect option for an exciting, fast tour that presents the opportunity to get really close to the birds! The adventure starts at the Old Harbour of Reykjavík.
Lundey and Akurey are two small islands located in the Reykjavík bay area, only 15 minutes away from Reykjavík’s Old Harbour. The islands are covered with small hills and slopes, and both are well known for their colourful birdlife. The islands’ shores are rocky, but our RIB speedboats are perfect to get as close to the islands as possible due to the shallow draft.
When we arrive at the islands, we turn off the engine so our passengers can observe the birds and the beautiful surroundings. Our licensed guide shares lots of information about the puffins and other birds of interest that are often seen on the puffin watching tours. Other birds spotted include northern fulmars, gulls, arctic terns, and black guillemots.

Our riding tours depart from Álftagerði farm on the south side of Lake Mývatn. We ride along the coastline of Lake Mývatn, up on top of pseudo craters as well as weaving through the old lava, partly on old horse roads that were used to transport people and supplies many years ago. The tour takes you through amazing lava formations and provides you with a view of the whole lake, its islands, and its birds.

3-Day South Coast & Golden Circle Adventure

Are you ready to try the longest, fastest zipline in Iceland? You&#8217;ll soar over the stunning Svartagljúfur gorge, with its numerous waterfalls and spectacular views — a natural gem to experience from a breathtaking vantage point.
The “Free as a Bird” Mega Zipline starts atop the Kambar plateau overlooking Hveragerði and leading down to a cafe near the trailhead to the Reykjadalur hot spring valley. Two lines, each 1 km long, run parallel to each other, giving people travelling together a chance to take flight simultaneously.
Your adventure begins at Mega Zipline’s reception area by the Reykjadalur trailhead. There, Mega Zipline staff will walk you through safety precautions and outfit you with the appropriate equipment.
A vehicle takes you to Svartagljúfur canyon, and you will walk about 10 – 15 minutes to the Kambar flight tower. The walk is approximately 600 metres (1,969 feet) with an elevation gain of approximately 70 metres (230 feet). During this walk, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the canyon. At the fall tower, you will be met by Mega Zipline pilots and briefed again on the safe use of the Zipline. You’re then sent down the Zipline for the flight of your life.
Automatic cameras positioned along the line will snap pictures of the experience. When the flight is over, you’ll return to the reception area (less than 2 minutes’ walk) to drop off your gear, view the photographs, peruse the gift shop, and wish you could go on the Zipline again and again.

Icelanders drive around Iceland in winter, and your clients can, too! But your clients should be aware of the road conditions and unpredictable weather during Iceland’s winter wonderland season. They should be comfortable with driving in snowy, windy, and icy conditions. Iceland Travel has implemented steps to ensure the safety of your client, and we will keep them updated on any weather changes that might affect their itinerary along their route. We will cover any cost for hotels that need to be changed or cancelled if roads must close due to bad weather. We’ll watch over your clients, and they can always reach us via our 24/7 Customer Care service.

Scenic Reykjavík Routes Self-Drive

Take an exciting journey to the breathtaking South Coast. Immerse yourself in the beauty of magnificent waterfalls, stroll along stunning black sand beaches, and if you’re visiting during the summer months, keep an eye out for charming puffins (puffins are generally in Iceland between mid-May and mid-August).
Your first visit is Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which tumbles into a plunge pool with an enormous cave hiding behind the waters. There’s an exciting path that you can walk behind the waterfall to see it from the other side!
Hidden within a narrow canyon, Gljúfrabúi is a mesmerising waterfall that offers a magical and secluded experience. To reach this hidden gem, you&#8217;ll need to venture through a narrow opening in the rocks, where you&#8217;ll be greeted by the sight of the waterfall cascading down from above.
The next stop is Skógafoss, an incredible waterfall. It’s a thrilling sight, and you may be lucky enough to see rainbows here. Skógafoss means “Forest Falls”, but there aren’t many trees now! There are 460 steps to the top of the falls – will you climb up and take a look from there?
Next, you’ll make short visit to Sólheimajökull glacier. From the viewing point you can soak in the view of magnificent glacier and the small lagoon forming in front of it.
Dyrhólaey is a promontory known for its dramatic cliffs and stunning panoramic views. Its unique rock arch stands tall against the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. From the top, you can admire the breathtaking vistas of black sand beaches, towering cliffs, and the vast expanse of the ocean.
Your next destination is the awe-inspiring black sand beach of Reynisfjara. You’ll be amazed by the powerful Atlantic waves crashing against the cliffs. Vík is the final stop on your South Coast adventure. It’s a pretty little village with a fairytale feel. Visit its lovely hilltop church, the perfect spot for panoramic pictures of the Reynisdrangar.

South Coast Adventure: Waterfalls, Glacier & Black Beach

Explore the home of the Icelandic Sagas, see stunning waterfalls, and relax in the soothing waters of the Húsafell Canyon Baths.
Start with a scenic drive past Mount Esja and then through the tunnel deep under Hvalfjörður to West Iceland. Drive deep inland towards Glanni. This picturesque waterfall cascades down multiple tiers across ancient lava fields. You&#8217;ll also have a breathtaking view of the three Grábrók volcanic craters.
Next is Deildartunguhver, renowned as the most powerful hot springs in Europe. Then you&#8217;ll visit a family-run Icelandic horse farm that can trace its history in West Iceland back for more than a century. Home to more than sixty purebred Icelandic horses, it’s one of the oldest horse breeding farms in the country, and you’re invited to spend time with these wonderful animals.  And there’s an extra treat when you visit Sturlureykir &#8211; freshly baked hot spring bread” served with a hot chocolate or a coffee!
Just a short distance away is Snorralaug, a hot spring pool that has been frequented by locals since the 12th century. Today, the pool is a protected archaeological site.  While you&#8217;re here, be sure to capture some photos of the beautiful old timber church, which dates back to the 19th century. Take a peek inside and you&#8217;ll even spot a viewing glass that provides a glimpse into a medieval smithy cistern.
Next, you will see the great Hraunfossar, a stunning series of waterfalls formed by several rivers running across the Hallmundarhraun lava field, created a thousand years ago by a volcano erupting under the nearby Langjökull glacier.
Stop in Húsafell, a magical place of woodlands and waterfalls set between the two glaciers. Here, you&#8217;ll be transferred to a special 4WD vehicle for a unique journey along rugged mountain passages. Stop to see Langifoss, a spectacular two-tiered waterfall that plunges through a steep ravine into the depths of Deildargil canyon.
The highlight of your tour comes next – an authentic Icelandic hot pool experience in the splendid setting of Hringsgil canyon. Enjoy a serene soak in a hot spring with the enchanting landscapes all around you. This spellbinding place has three geothermally heated pools of varying temperatures (30-41°C or 86-105°F), a cold-water pot and a cooling waterfall, all blending seamlessly into the natural environment.

Silver Circle: West Iceland with Canyon Ride & Secluded Thermal Baths

Join us for the Golden Circle Tour, where you’ll witness waterfalls, geyser eruptions, walk along a volcanic crater, and see the gap between the Eurasian and American plates at Þingvellir National Park. Enjoy a stop at a geothermal bakery in a unique geothermal park.
Your first stop is the captivating geothermal springs and geothermal park in Hveragerði. Visit Eilífur, the newest geyser in Iceland, which began erupting in 2016 and impressively erupts every 15-20 minutes. Enjoy “hverabrauð,” a sweet geothermal bread freshly baked in the on-site bakery. Inside the greenhouse, see experimental banana plants thriving so close to the Arctic Circle.
Head to Kerið crater. Kerið’s striking red earth and vibrant green moss create a captivating contrast, complemented by a turquoise-blue mineral water lake at its base.
Next, visit the awe-inspiring Gullfoss, one of Iceland&#8217;s most beloved natural wonders, featuring a double drop where the water plunges into a narrow ravine, creating a stunning spray.
Nearby is the Geysir geothermal area. Strokkur, an impressive geyser, displays its power with reliable eruptions every few minutes, soaring up higher and more powerful than Eilífur. You’ll also see bubbling hotpots and superheated streams, leaving behind vivid, multi-coloured residues.
Your final stop will be Þingvellir National Park. Here, you&#8217;ll be mesmerized by the vast gap between the Eurasian and American continental plates. Beyond its geological wonders, Þingvellir holds immense cultural and historical significance for Iceland. It was at this site that the Vikings established the world&#8217;s oldest surviving Parliament in 930 AD.

Glacier Experience is a small group experience that offers an easy glacier hike on Sólheimajökull glacier with an experienced glacier guide and is available all year around. Add even more adventure to your stay in Iceland and come explore this amazing crawling glacier with us. Sólheimajökull glacier is an outlet from the mighty Mýrdalsjökull and is surrounded by some of Iceland&#8217;s grandest volcanoes. A glacier lagoon forms in front of the glacier during summertime, only adding to the location&#8217;s charm.
Your Glacier Experience tour starts with an introduction to the necessary glacier equipment provided in the tour and your expert guide going over the safety rules to explore the beautiful Sólheimajökull glacier. You will then take a short but scenic walk across the pitch-black volcanic ash and sands that lay in between the Sólheimajökull glacier and the parking lot.
The ash and sand are from the volcanic eruption in Eyjafjallajökull stratovolcano that took place in the year 2010 and is a reminder of the closeness of volcanoes and glaciers in Iceland. Truly a fantastic and unique start! At the foot of the glacier you will lace up our crampons and follow your guide to explore this otherworldly natural wonder; a rugged, raw and ever-changing hub of ancient frozen water.
You will see how the primal elements shape and affect the glacier, creating mesmerising labyrinths of ice ridges and deep V-shaped crevasses that crisscross and scar the surface of the ice. Not to mention the big sinkholes, called “moulins”, that sometimes have drilled their way through the glacier, draining the meltwater of the ice through little waterfalls and streams.

For the grand finale, visit the photographers’ favorite, the Kerið volcanic crater. This striking volcanic crater filled with a vivid blue lake and framed by steep slopes. Discover the Edge of the Arctic

This trip brings you to Iceland at the ideal time to discover the nation’s birdlife at its best, with a focus on the south and west coasts.  Enjoy opportunities to spot birds, along with visits to Iceland’s beloved natural wonders.
The majority (about two-thirds) of Iceland’s birds are seabirds and various species of wetland birds. Almost 80 bird species breed regularly in Iceland. Many of these birds only spend a few months in the country each year; others are permanent residents. In total around 30 species have been added to Iceland’s bird population during the last century. The vast majority of the species breed in neighbouring European countries, or around the Arctic region. Three species have entered Iceland from North America:  the Great Northern Diver (Common Loon), the Barrow’s Goldeneye, and the Harlequin Duck. Iceland is their only breeding location in Europe. Several migratory species stop-over in Iceland on their way between their breeding grounds north of the Arctic Circle and their wintering grounds further south on the planet.  These species include the Knot, sanderling, Turnstone, Brent Goose, White-fronted Goose, and Barnacle Goose. A total of around 380 species have been observed at least once in Iceland, most of them being migratory.
