Day 2: Hofn and South East Iceland
Adventure activities abound in Southeast Iceland such as ATV riding, snowmobiling, horseback riding, glacier hiking and ice climbing. Ingolfshofdi cape is excellent for seabird watching, and Southeast Iceland is also one of the few places in Iceland where you might see wild reindeer roaming the countryside, especially during the wintertime.
Hofn‘s main industry is fishing, Hofn is known as the ‘Lobster Capital of Northern Europe.’ Fresh langoustine lobster is on restaurant menus and is highly recommended. The town also has a cultural center, art museum, local handcraft shop and other services, including the Hornhusid Yoga Studio, which offers early morning yoga sessions in English for visitors.
