Fly through the landscape of the epic television series, Game of Thrones.

The route explores Godafoss waterfall and then over Lake Myvatn, with its numerous scenic attractions and geothermal phenomena.  From Lake Myvatn, we fly over Vatnajokull National Park to see Dettifoss, a spectacular waterfall where cascades plunge from a height of 144 feet (44 meters) into a narrow canyon.

From the Dettifoss waterfall, we follow the magnificent canyons before turning homeward bound for Akureyri. Relax and take in the northeastern coastline as the Troll Peninsula mountain range comes to view in the west.

What you will see on the Diamond Circle Air Tour:

Godafoss waterfall. One of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. It's located in the 4th longest river in Iceland, Skjalfandafljot, which originates deep in the highlands.

Dettifoss waterfall. Considered to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe. Located where the glacial river from the mighty Vatnajokull glacier plunges into a deep canyon.

Theistareykir. The vast lava field of Theistareykir is believed to cover an area able to provide up to 300 MW of electricity from the earth's depths.

Lake Myvatn. A stunning volcanic landscape, explosion craters, bubbling mud pools and a beautiful lake. Lake Myvatn area has it all.

Krafla geothermal power station. See how the locals are able to harness the immense power from the ground with boreholes up to 2 km deep. An area supplying the N-East with electricity.
