Learn about the history of Iceland, the Viking settlers, the origin of the Sagas, the Icelandic name system, the Icelanders‘ struggle for independence and much more, while at the same time getting to know our language and some common phrases. All this is mixed with an assortment of the absolute best traditional Icelandic dishes.

Both the evening and afternoon sessions mix food with history – what Icelanders ate, how Icelanders ate, and how the traditional Icelandic dishes came to be.

In the afternoon: We enjoy an excellent view of the Atlantic ocean while enjoying a buffet of traditional Icelandic bread and cakes, including Icelandic rye bread and scones, served with all kinds of traditional toppings. Our hand-picked herbal tea is also included in this. You will also get to try a sheep’s head along with skyr and syrups, our herbal tea and a variety of products derived from Icelandic nature. With these dishes, you will be drinking the Icelandic holiday drink along with some beer tasting. Then we finish by baking the Icelandic pancakes on our very old Icelandic pancake-pans, served with two types of our homemade jam, whipped cream, and fair-trade coffee roasted in Iceland.

In the evening: You can relax and enjoy a full 3-course meal with Icelandic beer.  We start with our very own hand-picked herbal tea, and then a varied selection of traditional Icelandic bread and toppings, skyr and syrups, the sheep-head and a lot from Icelandic nature.  With these dishes, you will be drinking the Icelandic holiday drink along with some beer tasting. The main dish is the traditional Icelandic lamb soup and selected Icelandic beer is served with the soup.  Then we finish by baking the Icelandic pancakes on our very old Icelandic pancake-pans, served with two types of our homemade jam, whipped cream, and fair-trade coffee roasted in Iceland.

Please note because both sessions include plenty of food, we would advise against having a big dinner the same day. We can assure you that you won’t be leaving hungry!
