In the Super-Jeep, the route leads from Akureyri to Dettifoss waterfall (44 m high) in the surreal Icelandic highland wilderness. This glacier-fed fall of water, mud and sand rumbles into Iceland's most impressive canyon.
The first stop is at the beautiful Godafoss waterfall, where you can view the immense natural power up close. After taking in the waterfall you'll head to the otherworldly Myvatn area. Once in Myvatn you can explore the natural lava maze of Dimmuborgir and stop for a quick lunch.
Then head on to the King of Waterfalls himself, Dettifoss. Not only is Dettifoss the biggest waterfall in Iceland, it is also believed to be the most powerful in Europe! Local wisdom has it that after seeing Dettifoss up close and personal, your outlook on life will never be the same.
Your guide will recommend the best sights for photographing Dettifoss depending on daily weather conditions.
By now it's time to relax, and what can be more relaxing than a soak in the Myvatn Nature Baths, our final stop before heading back to Akureyri.
