Landmannalaugar, this unique part of the highlands is one of Iceland’s most awe-inspiring places. The colourful rhyolite mountains are among its main characteristics with their varying textures, shapes and sizes. The wonderful natural hot springs are perfect for soaking in after a day of hiking.

En route there we drive through Thjorsardalur valley, with its stunningly diverse and colourful landscapes, and visit a reconstructed medieval farmhouse. Here we also have a fine view of Iceland’s best-known volcano, Mt. Hekla.

Some hiking is required on this excursion.

A bathing suit and a towel is recommended if you want to take a dip into the hot pool at Landmannalaugar.
