Day 2: Reykjavik Grand Excursion

Reykjavik City Sightseeing – Blue Lagoon

Today you’ll be picked up at your hotel and taken on a comprehensive introduction to the city of Reykjavik’s past and present. During this tour you will experience Reykjavik’s main attractions on foot and by bus.

The tour takes in all the key landmarks such as Perlan (The Pearl), Hallgrimskirkja church, the Old harbour and the famous 101 neighbourhood. Reykjavik’s unique proximity to nature – with its own salmon river, a geothermal beach, green valleys and outdoor swimming pools – makes a city tour unforgettable.

The afternoon and evening are open to your inspiration. We suggest a visit to one of the many museums or art galleries around the city. Some recommendations include the National Museum of Iceland, Reykjavik Art Museum and the Settlement Exhibition.

Day 3: The Golden Circle

Highlights: Gullfoss Geysir

Gullfoss – Geysir – Thingvellir National Park

The Golden Circle refers to the ‘Big Three’ – Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot springs and Þingvellir National Park- all are included on this tour.

Begin the journey with a drive inland to Þingvellir National Park and experience one of the most outstanding landscapes in the country. The area is surrounded by mountains and encompasses a vast lava plain of green moss and wild flowers. In 2004, Þingvellir was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Continue to Gullfoss, the ‘Golden Waterfall’, the most famous of the country’s many waterfalls. Here the river Hvítá drops 96 feet (30 meters) in two falls, creating an awesome spectacle.

Next is the Geysir geothermal area with many bubbling pools and spouting geysers.

Return to Reykjavik and evening at leisure.
