Day Tours

Join our highly enthusiastic and experienced team in the search for whales, dolphins, and birds near Reykjavík.
Enjoy a magical journey into Faxaflói bay with our expert crew. Magnificent landscapes surround the area and add a unique contrast to the vast ocean.
You’ll search for whales under the excellent guidance of our marine biologist guides while learning about the incredible Icelandic wildlife. The bay is also full of birdlife that feed on the sea’s plentiful fish.
The most common whale species on our tours include minke whales, humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins, and harbour porpoises. Occasionally we’ll see killer whales, fin whales, sei whales and long-finned pilot whales. One of our excellent naturalists will give a live commentary throughout the tour and notify you of any sightings as we go.
Start your tour with our Visitor Centre, located on board a converted fishing vessel permanently placed by the pier. Stroll through our unique floating wildlife exhibition to learn more about the animals you might see. You’ll board the boat through the Visitor Centre.  You can stay outside in the fresh air but you are also welcome to settle inside the heated lounge and observe from within.
Our whale watching boat has  several outdoor viewing platforms, a heated indoor saloon with large viewing windows, a cafeteria where you can buy light refreshments, toilet facilities and a cloak room where you can borrow our blankets and overalls for the duration of the tour.

Enjoy a silent excursion onboard an electric, eco-friendly whale watching boat. Experience minimum disturbance to whales and nature and no carbon footprint.
Can you imagine anything better than sailing around Skjálfandi Bay with pods of whales all around? It’s sailing around Skjálfandi Bay on board the most animal &#8211; and environmentally friendly whale watching vessels in the world! Our electric — and silent — boats glide through the sea, giving you the opportunity to quietly approach whales in their natural habitat while causing them minimum disturbance.
The sustainable approach to nature is combined with our professional crew, specially trained in responsible conduct with the whales.  As you approach the whales, your guide will tell you more about these magnificent creatures and explain how the low-noise, low-energy ship is designed to cause minimal interference with their natural environment.
On the way back to Húsavík, you&#8217;ll enjoy warming up with a cup of hot chocolate and some freshly baked cinnamon buns.

Húsavík Silent Whale Watching (Carbon Neutral)

Nowhere else in Iceland is there a better chance to see sperm whales and orcas than along the Snæfellsnes Peninsula coastline.
If you are traveling around the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Ólafsvík is a perfect place to join a whale watching tour.
Sitting on the north end of the peninsula, the town is close to the bountiful waters of the clear North Atlantic Ocean, where a number of whale species feed.
This unique trip takes you into the waters around Snæfellsnes, where ocean giants swim in the shadow of the magnificent Snæfellsjökull Glacier. Nowhere else in Iceland is there a better chance to see toothed whales such as orcas, sperm whales, and pilot whales than along this beautiful coastline.
Orcas are most often seen in winter, spring, and early summer (February through early July), but there is a chance of seeing them all the way through the summer months.  Male sperm whales can be seen between about March and June (mostly) out in deeper water regularly and sometimes show up on trips later in the year also.
During late summer and into autumn we mostly see minke whales, humpback whales and white-beaked dolphins.

Whale Watching from Ólafsvík village

In scenic Dalvík, you have an exceptionally good chance to encounter the great humpback whale in Iceland. You can get close to the giant whales and the wildlife of the sea.
On this whale watching tour from Dalvík in North Iceland, you have an exceptionally good chance to encounter the great humpback whale. Often, we spot white-beaked dolphins, minke whales,  small harbour porpoises and sometimes even the majestic blue whale, fin whales or killer whales.
