On this sightseeing tour, we make sure that you land off the beaten track and away from the crowds to witness Iceland’s raw geothermal energy first-hand.
We start with a flight over one of the most active and colourful volcanic areas in Iceland, the Hellisheiði plateau. You’ll see moss covered lava fields stretched out to the horizon, interspersed with colourful basalt mountains, steaming hot springs, and the very geothermal power plants that supply Reykjavík with its renewable energy.
The helicopter will land in the Hengill geothermal area, named after the Hengill volcano. You can view first-hand the untouched Icelandic nature. We’ll bring you close to hot springs and boiling mud pots, and you might even see some sheep wandering around the valley in the summer. No matter the season or time of year, this area always has magical, colourful, and beautiful views.
Please note that is not a regular tourist site, there are no safety ropes  and infrastructure – you’ll experience the site just how nature created it. 
On our way back we will make a scenic pass over Reykjavík to give you a unique aerial view of Iceland’s capital.

Catch a glimpse of the magical beauty of Iceland&#8217;s volcanic landscape with this helicopter tour of the moonlike Reykjanes Peninsula.
This tour truly shows the untamed power that has sculpted the island into its rugged beauty. As you soar above the moonlike Reykjanes peninsula you will get to truly appreciate its grandeur &#8211; something only possible from air. You will see countless volcanic craters, the unforgiving ocean lining the coast, the Seltún geothermal area, the Blue Lagoon, Lake Kleifarvatn and Lake Grænavatn.
Of course, no tour would be complete without a landing and time to explore. On this tour we stop at Eldvörp on the Reykjanes Peninsula in the southwest of the island. It is a 10km (6 miles) long crater row with extensive geothermal activity, so you will always see steam rising from the earth. This combination of rugged coastline and rising steam will make it feel like you&#8217;ve landed on another planet entirely!
Finally, you will get a glimpse of mountain Keilir, as well as the remarkable craters from the Fagradalsfjall volcano, which has had several eruptions since 2021.

Countless Craters Helicopter Tour

A short-and-sweet exploration of Reykjavík&#8217;s vibrant cityscape and the mountains that surround the world’s northernmost capital.
As you take off smoothly from the airport, you&#8217;ll see how quickly the city gets smaller and smaller beneath you, with every turn of the helicopter&#8217;s wings.
During the tour, the helicopter will land on a nearby summit where you&#8217;ll have the chance to capture a silent panorama of the vast blue ocean that hugs the city shore and catch sight of the small islands scattered in the distance. You&#8217;ll see the mountains behind you that might simply take your breath away with their grandeur.
