Day 1

An Iceland Travel guide will meet you at the airport and bring you out to where the tour vehicle is waiting. Head over the lunar landscapes of Reykjanes Peninsula as you drive to Reykjavík. Your guide will give you an introduction to your tour as you travel to your hotel.
Please note guaranteed early check-in is not included in the price. Most hotels begin check-in around 14:00 (2:00pm).
Dinner is on your own tonight. Reykjavík’s tempting variety of restaurants and cuisines will make the dining experience a delight. (We can also add dinner on this night for your group, if requested.)
Suggested Hotel: Berjaya Iceland Reykjavík Natura &#8211; Reykjavik Natura is a four-star hotel located by the domestic airport, yet also close to the city centre. This is the quiet Öskuhlíð neighbourhood, a wooded nature area near the sea. There are many easy nature trails and bike trails around the hotel, as well as Iceland’s only geothermal beach. The hotel is located next to the Wonders of Iceland museum at the Pearl. The surrounding nature and peaceful atmosphere while being close to downtown Reykjavík make this hotel an ideal choice for a wellness holiday. The hotel’s Natura Spa has an indoor geothermal pool, hot tub, sauna, steam bath and relaxation area. The spa offers massages and other treatments. The Satt Restaurant features Icelandic cuisine with a healthy twist.

Day 2

Scenic Nature Walk – Geothermal Beach Yoga – Reykjavík Walking Tour
After a delicious and healthy breakfast buffet, you‘ll meet your guide in the hotel lobby. Start with a walk on the trails in the nearby Öskjuhlíð area, enjoying fresh air and the sights and sounds of nature. The walking paths lead your group to the serene Nauthólsvík geothermal beach. You&#8217;ll meet a local Yoga instructor for an inspirational session right on the beach. Afterwards, you can relax in the geothermal water. Nauthólsvík beach is equipped with changing facilities and showers, steam baths and hot tubs. Hot water is pumped into the man-made ocean lagoon and resulting in a refreshing swimming area with an average temperature between 15°– 19°C (59 – 66°F) in summer.
After this relaxing experience, a motorcoach will transfer your group from the beach and take you to Reykjavík’s historical city centre for a healthy lunch. After lunch, join your guide on a walking tour around the charming city centre. Your guide will give you insights into the history and daily life of this progressive city. The walking tour ends in the city centre. Spend the rest of the afternoon &amp; evening at your leisure. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the vibrant city centre at your own pace. The main downtown street, Laugavegur, offers a variety of shops, galleries, restaurants, coffee houses and bars to suit all tastes—all within an easy walk. The Old Harbour area has become a foodie district with a food hall, local restaurants, museums, and handicraft shops. Return to the hotel on your own.

Reykjavík: Hot Springs and History

Day 3

Scenic Lighthouse &amp; Hot Spring Beach – Folklore Walk – Lava Waterfalls
Breakfast at your hotel and check out. Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and head out to the tour vehicle. Today you’ll be visiting the enchanting west coast of Iceland, an area of volcanic landscapes, crystal rivers and tiny forests.
Your first stop is the coastal village of Akranes. Visit a historical lighthouse that now serves as a unique community centre with art exhibits and superb acoustics for storytelling and concerts. You can also climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse for an inspiring view over the area.
Join your guide for a refreshing walk from the lighthouse to Langisandur beach where you can bathe in the ocean, build sandcastles, and enjoy the view. You can also enjoy the soothing warm waters of Guðlaug, a hot pool located in Langisandur’s rock garden.
If you are interested, we can also arrange for your group to enjoy guided yoga on the beach.
After returning to the bus, your group will drive to Fossatún, an area with a café and wonderful hiking trails through Tröllagarð. The “Troll Stroll” is a short walk with a view over The Troll Waterfalls and an interesting folktale of The Last Troll. You’ll learn about this tale and other troll legends during the walk. The nearby Folktale Trail is an extension of the Troll Walk. It is a perfect way to learn about West Iceland’s rich store of folktales. In addition, you’ll enjoy a wonderful panorama view of the Borgarfjördur area and the mountains ringing the fjord.
The next stop is Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring, followed by the lovely Hraunfossar “Lava Falls.” Clear, cold springs of water run through the lava as tiny waterfalls into the Hvítá river.
End your day in Borgarfjörður, a beautiful and peaceful place for a night in Icelandic nature.

Suggested Hotel: Hótel Húsafell – This hotel is located in the enchanting Húsafell nature resort. The hotel features unique stone art created by an artist who lives in the area. Guests have access to a geothermal swimming pool near the hotel. The hotel only uses 100% pure energy produced on the site. The electricity comes from small hydro powerplants which are driven by crystal clear spring water. The hotel restaurant features seasonal Icelandic ingredients with an international twist. The hotel also offers guided hikes to a nearby canyon with hidden hot spring pools.

Akranes and Borgarfjörður: Folk Tales and Beach Bathing

Day 4

Secret Canyon Baths – Famous National Park – Golden Falls – Lively Gesyers
Breakfast at your hotel. We’ve reserved today to explore the legendary Golden Circle. Start your day with a guided walk to the Giljaböð, the Húsafell Canyon Baths. Enjoy a beautiful and easy hike through the surreal landscapes of Icelandic highlands. You’ll view natural wonders not found in many guidebooks, including the spectacular two-tiered waterfall Langifoss.
The highlight of your excursion is a serene soak in the secluded Húsafell Canyon Baths. Enjoy a half an hour of relaxation, recharging and breathing in the pure Icelandic air. Afterwards, board your tour bus and head to Borganes town where you’ll savour a delicious Icelandic picnic lunch in the small public park of Skallagrímsgarður. This park is a great introduction to the Icelandic sagas, especially Egill’s Saga, which took place here. The Viking “hero” of the saga was one of Iceland’s greatest warrior poets. After lunch, walk over a bridge to Brákarey Island for a lovely panoramic view of the shoreline and the Atlantic ocean.
Now it’s time to head to the Golden Circle area. You’ll first visit Þingvellir National Park, site of the Viking parliament and over 1.000 years of history. Walk through the geological fault known as Almannagjá &#8211; the place where Europe’s oldest national legislative assembly, the Icelandic Althing, was established in the year 930AD.
Your tour continues into the fertile farmlands of the south to visit the most beautiful waterfall of the country, Gullfoss. Maybe you’ll see the rainbow that often crowns the falls on sunny days. You will also stop at the Geysir geothermal area and enjoy a stroll among a multitude of hot springs. The most active geyser, Strokkur, spouts every few minutes.
Afterwards, head to the geothermal village of Hveragerði for your dinner and overnight. Yoga sessions will be available for your group to enjoy in town before dinner time.
Suggested Hotel: Frost og Fúni (Frost and Fire)  &#8211; Frost &amp; Funi is a local boutique hotel has its own hot spring area at the Varmá River. The rooms at Frost and Funi are designed for your comfort and feature wonderful views of magnificent nature. From the rooms you can look across the Varmá River and beyond to Mt. Reykjafjall and the neighbouring hot spring valleys.

Canyon Bathing and The Golden Circle

Day 5

Relaxing Historical Pool – Geothermal Greenhouse Energy – Hot Spring Hike
Breakfast at your hotel. Start your day with a refreshing and relaxing dip in the Secret Lagoon, a geothermal natural hot spring located in the small village of Flúðir (about a 30-minute drive from Hveragerði). This historical outdoor pool is a unique geothermal bathing area set in natural surroundings. Steam rises into the air and tiny geysers erupt nearby, giving the pool a magical feeling. The water at the Secret Lagoon maintains a 38-40° C (100-104° F) temperature year-round and provides a warm and relaxing ambiance for bathers.
Next, you will visit Friðheimar, a tomato and cucumber greenhouse farm powered by geothermal and hydroelectric energy. You’ll get a fascinating glimpse into how the farm family uses Icelandic nature to cultivate tomatoes, and you’ll get a chance to try some of the delicious tomatoes.
Drive to a trailhead in the Hveragerði area for a hot spring hike in the Reykjadalur valley. Walk among hot springs and bubbling mud pots. It is a surreal experience to hike in this place of colourful mountain slopes, steaming fissures and flowing cool rivers. The peak of the trip is the river Reykjadalsá, where a cold river blends with boiling hot water and creates a warm spring where you can relax and energise. (If you would like to bathe in the stream you will need to bring a swimsuit and towel on the hike. Please note there are very basic changing facilities.)
After returning to your hotel, you’ll have some free time to enjoy the hotel amenities or to explore the town of Hveragerði. Yoga sessions will be available for your group to enjoy before dinner time.

A Day of Healthy Hot Spring Energy

Day 6

Volcanic Beach Yoga – Scenic Lava Nature Walk – Relaxing Geothermal Lagoon
Breakfast at your hotel. Start today’s experiences with a yoga session on a volcanic beach. Your group will head to the pretty coastal town of Þorlákshöfn, about a 15-minute drive from Hveragerði. Your local yoga instructor will be waiting to take your group through an energizing routine on the dark sands. If the weather decides not to cooperate, your group will move indoors to a beautiful and tranquil yoga space.
After your yoga session, you’ll take a beautiful coastal road that leads onto the breath-taking Reykjanes peninsula. Reykjanes became a UNESCO Geopark in 2015 because of its many interesting geothermal and volcanic features, and it’s a fantastic place to explore. Reykjanes is also famous for the Fagridalur volcanic eruptions of 2021 and 2022.
Visit Strandarkirkja, a pretty wooden church unique to those in rural Iceland. There is a long-standing tradition that prayers in the church helped provide luck and success to fishermen working on the dangerous seas. The small church is built right onto the coast with amazing views of the turbulent ocean waves crashing against volcanic rocks and black sands. Look for a quaint set of painted “elf houses” nestled in the church grounds.
Drive to Kleifarvatn, a lake set in fascinating, stark, moon-like surroundings. Kleifarvatn was the setting for the popular murder mystery, The Draining Lake, by renowned Icelandic author Arnaldur Indríðason.
Near the lake’s southern end lies Krýsuvík, where powerful jets of steam escape from deep below the earth’s crust and sulphurous steam rises from numerous geothermal vents. You can see small hot springs, brightly coloured mud pots, boiling pools, and other types of geothermal activity.
Continue under low mountains along the shoreline to the world-famous Blue Lagoon. Enjoy a healthy lunch at the Blue Lagoon’s Lava Restaurant, followed by an easy scenic walk on some of the spa’s nature trails that wind through lava formations. Afterwards, relax in the cozy and warm waters of the Blue Lagoon. While bathing you can also enjoy a sauna with a view over the lagoon, a steam-bath with white walls that resemble silica-mud, and a cosy steam-bath carved into a lava cave. You can also stand under a small waterfall for an energizing massage. Of course, you’ll have easy access to the famous and skin soothing white silica mud, an essential part of the spa experience.
After your Blue Lagoon visit, you’ll return to Reykjavík where your guide will bid you farewell at your hotel. The rest of the day is open for you to explore Reykjavík at your own pace.

Reykjanes and the Blue Lagoon

Day 7

Breakfast at your hotel. (Please note that this might be a light breakfast if you are taking an early morning departure flight). Depending on your schedule there may be free time to explore Reykjavik, take a refreshing morning walk and do some shopping.
Meet your bus driver at your hotel for an unguided transfer to Keflavík Airport and your return flight. You’ll have the chance to take in some final views of Iceland as you drive along the Reykjanes Peninsula to the airport. Enjoy your trip back to your home country and the fond memories of your time in Iceland!
