Go on a magical journey deep inside a man-made Ice Cave and visit the largest Lava Cave in Iceland. An unforgettable experience all in one day on the Into Ice and Lava tour!

We leave early from Reykjavik and catch the crisp morning view of the Langjokull Glacier where the ice cave is situated and the surrounding lava fields where the lava cave can be found.

You soon learn that in Iceland virtually anything is possible – before you know it you suddenly find yourself standing on top of an ice cap and about to begin your descent below the surface to explore what lies beneath.

The Ice Cave is a man-made glacier cave high up in a remote area in the highlands of Iceland. The glacier is in constant motion and you can witness that movement firsthand. The temperature inside the glacier is usually around 0 ℃ (32 °F) and until very recently what lay beneath the surface of Langjokull was a mystery.

After our ice cave tour, we get back on board the glacier truck and head straight to Iceland’s mightiest lava cave, Vidgelmir. Just shy of 5,250 feet (1,600 meters), Vidgelmir is one of the largest lava caves in the world.

Afterwards, we take a scenic route back to Reykjavik.

This tour is very family friendly.
