Visit the amazing South Shore of Iceland crossing fertile farmlands with striking views over waterfalls, glaciers and beautiful nature. It’s a great way to spend a day in Iceland.
The South Coast Wonders carbon neutral tour is ideal for nature lovers of all kinds. Travel along the south coast of Iceland, one of the country’s most scenic regions, as far as Vík, a charming village surrounded by high beautiful bird cliffs.
Among the stops on this tour are the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. What makes Seljalandsfoss so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it. We recommend you bring either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along if you want to stroll behind it which we of course highly recommend. Skógafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall is something of a film star, having been used as a backdrop in films such as Thor: The Dark World, Game of Thrones, Eurovision Song Contest: the Story of Fire Saga, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
You will also stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland.
Additionally, your tour will stop by Sólheimajökull glacier for a guided walk up to a small lake that has formed in front of the retreating glacier.
Your tour also includes an audio guide app you can use with your own smartphone and headphones. The guide offers a choice of 10 languages (English, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Finnish). The app also has text descriptions if you don’t have headphones.

Here is an easy sightseeing day trip with an adventurous twist!
Get your chance to walk behind the ribbon-shaped cascade of Seljalandsfoss Waterfall and admire Skógafoss Waterfall up close. Stroll onto a volcanic black sand beach overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Join our certified glacier guides on an action-packed hike out onto a 700-year-old glacier tongue!
The first stop on your carbon neutral tour is at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, one of Iceland&#8217;s greatest attractions. Here you&#8217;ll have the amazing opportunity to walk behind the magnificent wall of water and feel the power generated by the fall.
Experience incredible views as you pass through the fertile farming lands and small villages of south Iceland, an area rich in Viking history and heritage, watched over by the infamous Eyjafjallajökull and Hekla volcanoes.
The next step on your journey is a giant step for those that have never set foot on a glacier. Hear the ancient ice crack as you safely enjoy your hike on the glacier tongue with our certified glacier guide. The hiking part of the tour is about 2 hours, with 1-1.5 hours spent on the glistening glacier.
After the thrill of the glacier, you’ll head for Reynisfjara, where you can stroll along the black sand beach known for its famous basalt columns and caverns. Witness the Reynisdrangar cliffs and basalt rock stacks that rise from the sea.
End this incredible day tour by stopping at the majestic Skógafoss Waterfall. Walk right up to the thundering waterfall and feel the spray on your face. You can even walk up the 527 steps for a bird’s eye view of cascading water and rainbows.
