The Three Tunnel tour takes you along some of the most beautiful coastline in the North of Iceland.
On this 5 hour tour from Akureyri you’ll drive along the dramatic coastline of North Iceland’s Troll Peninsula, visit small fishing villages and learn about Iceland’s herring heritage.
The tour begins with a visit to a former herring village, Hjalteyri. The old houses along with the former herring meal factory stand there as if waiting for the past to return.
Passing through the villages of Dalvik and Olafsfjordur you’ll finally find Siglufjordur waiting between the high mountains of the peninsula.
In Siglufjordur you’ll visit the award winning Herring Era Museum, where your guide will walk with you to make sure you get the most out of your visit, learning about the local life during the early 20th century and the importance of fisheries for the Icelandic nation.
You will have time to explore the village before we stop for lunch in a local cafe.
